Release any lingering tensions.
Today I am taking you back to The Lush Spa on Oxford Street in London. As I wrote in my previous post, this used to be a monthly thing for me before I met my ex-boyfriend — and I have every intention of returning it to being a regular self-care day. Last month I couldn’t get an appointment as this particular Lush Spa is very popular, but this one was clearly meant to be, as I had the same lovely therapist as last time, Shelby (now don’t go booking up all her availability!).

For those counting, this is my fifth visit to The Lush Spa. I previously enjoyed Book A Bath: The Lakes, Tangled Hair, The Spell, and a Fresh Facial.
So I had a Tangled Hair treatment before? Yes.
In all honesty, after the magical Book A Bath experience, Tangled Hair felt rather dull, there are no Lush products involved; and so the first time I tried this I felt rather disappointed.
So why did I go back for the same treatment, then? Again in all honestly, at £40 it is one of the cheapest treatments the spa offers, and I needed a pick-me-up.
And this time was so, so much better! Shelby was fantastic!
Tangled Hair is by description a Japanese scalp- and face massage. But at the same time it is so much more, there are hot and cold stones involved, a neck-, shoulders-, chest-, and arm massage, and mint scents to wake you up at the end of the treatment.
It is incredibly relaxing, and it drains any tensions right out of your upper body. I didn’t even realise how tense my neck and scalp were, until Shelby got to work, and I could feel those muscles relax; there may have been some proper cracking and popping sounds.
Tangled Hair is such a beautiful experience, and I felt fully relaxed and ready to face the world again afterwards.
If you are booking this treatment during the colder months, I recommend wearing a t-shirt under your jumper, as it is quite warm under the towels, and you will definitely want to take your jumper (or any other warm layers) off. Also, your face will be massaged, so minimal make-up, please (though there are some cleansing products provided in the powder room).
I hope you find some peace and relaxation in these Lush Spa rooms, and for any lingering tensions to melt away.
