All About Skin.
Recently my life has become all bout feeling comfortable in my own skin, and comfortable with what’s on my skin. The end of my relationship last year has made me very conscious of my body, not just it’s shape and size and physical health, but also how it is treated, and by whom. I have no regrets, but at the same time the end of intimacy has made me very aware of how easily I have given myself into another’s hands; and it makes me wonder if I have given myself over too easily.

1 From my LUSH skin care routine:
As a flight attendant I often have to wear more makeup than I like, and I usually can’t wait to scrape it all off, especially after a 10-hour-day in the dry air-conditioning of a long haul aircraft. With my recent return to regular visits to the LUSH spa, my LUSH skin care has multiplied. Here are my current favourites: Sleepy Face, an evening oil cleanser, Happy Skin, the gorgeous face scrub from my LUSH facial, and Full of Grace, a solid facial serum, also from that facial. I especially love that Sleepy Face and Full of Grace are solid, melting at body temperature, they are perfect for travelling, and come around the world with me on most trips.
And for a little extra happiness I add a few dabs of Pansy solid perfume. I’m sure I have mentioned countless times that Orange Blossom is my favourite scent, so this solid perfume, again perfect for travel, always puts me in a good mood.
2 Grey Rib-Knit Wool Jumper / H&M
Even though spring and summer are firmly on the horizon, here in the UK (and in many other northern places around the world) it is still quite nippy, especially in the mornings, and so I love me a nice, cosy jumper. This one is from the H&M premium range, 90% wool and 10% cashmere, and so, so snuggly. The cashmere content reduces the itchiness to next to nothing, and I am more than happy to have this one directly on my skin, even immediately after my morning shower.
3 Gold Virgo Necklace / Kate Spade
Kate Spade, may she rest in peace, is one of my favourite designers. I particularly love the bags she herself designed when she was still alive, but I also have a rather sizable jewellery collection from the brand. This particular necklace is a recent purchase, although it is no longer available: I found it on Vinted (sorry!). It caught my eye because of the delicate chain, and the lovely depiction of Virgo. I often find the females that are meant to be Virgo rather princess-y and silly, this one has a more elegant simplicity. The back is engraved with the word CURIOUS, and has a tiny splinter of the Virgo birth stone, a blue Sapphire, which sits directly on the skin to enhance its effects.
And there you have all the things that I appreciated directly on my skin this month. I hope you, too, found pockets of time to treat yourself with care and love and appreciation.
